  1. Replacement !AutoBoot programs for use with !TCPIPUser and !Newsbase

  4. This package contains re-written copies of the !AutoBoot absolute file
  5. that has been used inside the !TCPIPUser and !Newsbase applications.
  6.  
  7. The action of the program is to scan the Autoboot directory inside the
  8. application and execute *Filer_Boot commands for all applications found.
  9. No action is taken on files or ordinary (non-application) directories.
  10.  
  11. It will usually be run from the application's !Boot file, as follows:

  17.     Run <TCPIP$Dir>.!AutoBoot    Run <Newsbase$Dir>.!AutoBoot

  19. !TCPIP (the KA9Q internet suite ported to Acorn RISC OS) version 2.01
  20. appears to be the source of the original !AutoBoot program.  This
  21. version should hopefully address the problem(s) reported with the old
  22. copy.  (For instance, a missing AutoBoot directory used to cause a
  23. spurious error report, and SWI Wimp_CloseDown was called incorrectly.)

  25. Credits to whoever designed the first version of this, and to Jonathan
  26. Coxhead for creating OSLib which has been used to help assemble the
  27. program, and finally to Mssrs Symes and Ebourne for writing the parts
  28. of the excellent !Zap editor, as used by countless Acorn developers.
